The Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric) is a tool for the individual to use as a template to test the reason of what another individual says. It’s a very effective BS detector and a way to make sure your arguments are sound before you express them.

In the ancient systems of education the Trivium had to be mastered before students were allowed to study the natural sciences. This system hasn’t been taught in the US since one-room school houses. The result is a population that is purposely kept ignorant of what is sound reasoning and what is illogical bunk. It is easy to use fallacies (lies) and sound like an authority. Fallacies sound like proof to the untrained ear.
